While I'm thrilled with the processing power and battery life of my new Macbook Pro M4Max, I've been having the worst time trying to connect USB devices to it.
I have several instruments and devices that use USB for firmware updates. So far I haven't been able to update my Cascadia, Korg NTS-3, or other eurorack modules that use USB cables to connect in a boot-loader mode.
The odd thing is that the Cascadia and NTS-3 will connect if I boot them normally, as I can access their midi ports in Ableton. But it seems like the mac won't recognize them in boot-loader/firmware update modes.
So, TLDR, can people recommend USB-C cables that they know definitely work for updating devices?
I mean, I'm keeping my older Intel Macbook Pro around as my wife will use it, but at some point, that won't be viable.
