Don't have a goal to spill a snake oil in here.
I know that there are some low level programmers and coders visiting this forum.
Can you explain more clearly the difference between these three existing audio input output technologies ?
Audio Stream Input/Output (Windows)
CoreAudio (MacOSX)
TDM, AAX-DSP, HDTDM, Pyramix Masscore
Seems like the third solution is the only one completely latency free (except the AD/DA conversion stage).
That's why big recording facilities are still using these expensive ProTools HD, HDX, Merging systems.
To preserve the lowest latency for group monitoring and processing with plugins.
ASIO and CoreAudio are still using operating system kernel to input/output sound ?
And more dependent on the PC interface, PCI-E, Thunderbolt, USB-C performance ?
While the proprietary DSP systems like PT and Pyramix (DSP powered), are making
more direct input/output completely isolated from WIN/OSX kernel, and
giving the most latency/jitter free experience ?
Very interesting.
