I've just finished restoring a Sequential Circuits Max. The Max is similar to the Six-Trak/Multi-Trak, but sports a simple keyboard with no real-time performance controls. Midi implementation is great, however. The Midi Guide (published alongside the User Manual) lists 36 parameters for Midi assignment. Some values (like LFO square/tri) are on/off. Others (like portamento) range 0-15. Filter cutoff ranges 0-127.
I'm looking for an external controller. Ideally, it would consist of a mix of assignable on/off buttons, rotary controllers with assignable ranges, and sliders with assignable ranges. I also would like to be able to save midi configurations (especially b/c the Max's user bank is limited to 20 patches). Recommendations? Something out-of-the-box would be great, but custom DIY is a possibility, too.
