Music Tech DIY • Very simple (I think) question - diodes for trigger/gate "or gate"

Hi all, I want to build a simple or-gate to add up triggers/gates for my eurorack. So e.g add extra triggers to the gate out of a sequencer. I know this can be done with diodes between each input and the output. Normally the choice diode for such things is a 1N4148. I happen to have a little pile of 1N4004. Any reason I couldn't/shouldn't use these? I know a 1N4004 is "slower" but surely that is imperceptible at (up to) audio rates? I know these things cost next to nothing but I have no other purpose for the 1N4004s so...
