I'm looking to get a cheap(ish) pair of headphones for listening to my modular and maybe my hi-fi separate system while my kids are asleep.
I know you get what you pay for (to an extent) but I haven't got that much money to spare, so happy to settle for a pair that are just OK. Plus, I'm not sure my ears are that discerning. I monitor my modular via a pair of Yamaha HS9 speakers and a cheap 12 channel Allen & Heath mixer, which I think sounds great, but probably has various flaws.
Normally, I'd just pick whatever heaphones are rated fairly well on review sites e.g. the Rode ones here: https://www.musicradar.com/news/best-bu ... headphones But I've read on other sites that the bass on these and similarly priced ones are not great e.g. https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/best/studio
And the quality of bass is quite important to me, due to the type of sounds I like to make and the music I like to listen to. Plus, I used to have a pair of the seemingly quite well-rated Beyerdynamics DTTs (can't remember the exact ones) and found the bass quite weak and off-putting.
Any recommendations/thoughts?
If possible, I'd like a closed-back pair with relatively good build quality and a detachable/replaceable cable. Thanks!
