Hi Tony, hope you are well.
After not using my modular for a long time, Ive revisited it and found a couple of problems with some old builds and would appreciate any help you might be able to offer.

I thought this was working fine, but on a proper test i found if you plug something into the exp input, i get no modulation, but if i plug into linear, both exp and linear knobs affect the pitch. everything else seems to work ok.
Ive taken it out and had a good look. soldering looks ok. Built with the sock boards. I found theres a short between the input pins on exp and lin even with all the mta cables unplugged so suspected that? (image below). But looking at the schematics im not sure if they should be connected to ground when nothings plugged in? I thought id ask quickly, and/or if theres anything else i can check before i take all the nuts off the front in case im missing something.

WHen i turn all 3 knobs i get a horrible noise like a fast lfo, which stops as soon as i stop turning. its the same on all 3 outputs. they 'feel' fine. And i dont know if all could break at the same time? all the other modules ive built with the same parts and same time all work fine.
if i plug an lfo into the cv in the filter works fine and sounds lovely.
if youve got any ideas on either of the above itd be really helpful.
many thanks, Ben
