Hey all,
Question 1) I have a 4 case system (3 Erica 6u 104hp's and a TipTop Mantis 6u 104hp). Is it better to power up the entire system at the same time by turning on the surge protected power strip they all plug into...or...is it better to turn on the power strip then power up each case individually one at a time? I recall reading an earlier thread that mentioned some modules might be finicky about having CV inputs/outputs plugged into a live case while the destination cases of those CV I/O's were powered down. If true it makes sense to power up the entire system at the same time...if not...well...
I'm looking to verify if one option or the other is easier on the modules and hopefully insures a longer lifespan of the modules and their components.
Question 2) Can anyone recommend a surge protected power strip? I already have all cases plugged into a modern surge protected power strip but was wondering if there's a specific "gold standard" that provides better protection than the rest? I've also been looking at a surge protected rack mount power conditioner like this: https://www.amazon.com/Pyle-Power-Strip ... 013&sr=8-4 Any comments?
Thanks!
