Hello Modwigglers

Found this UK artist collective and, not seeing evidence of a previous post about them figured I'd post.

They apparently set up some sort of soundsystem at "haunted locations" and use it to generate some of the sounds. They have this to say about their first LP:

"At the start of the 21st century, a new purpose was found for an outdoor sound system. Influenced by a chance viewing of an old VHS copy of Nigel Neale's "The Stone Tape," equipment was painstakingly reconfigured and, after a period of around 9 months, taken out to a variety of locations and put to use generating noises that would often produce remarkable psychic feedback. The locations were chosen primarily because of their reputations as "haunted."

The album contains edited versions of some of the more approachable live recordings generated by the Psychic Audio Group at these sites."

They've also got atmospheric and creepy videos to accompany their albums, like this for their second release:

I have to admit I find the idea of setting up some sort of feedback loop to get something like EVP is pretty interesting. I don't think any resulting sounds are due to ghosts, but I like the idea of an audio installation that serves to enhance already creepy aspects of a space.

Anyone know of any other artists who do something like this?

Although maybe outside of an artist discussion, if you were going to try to do something like this what would you use? My first thought is a classic audio feedback loop of some sort with microphones and speakers. Any other feedback loops that would accentuate any natural resonances of a place? Any suggested reading would be appreciated too!
