1U & 3U Eurorack Modules • Question regarding XAOC Devices Tallin VCA linear CV in

So, have an Erica Synths Dual ASR EG connected to the linear CV input of the Tallin. I noticed that, if i crank up the VCA level knob past 12 o'clock it's like no EG is connected to the CV in. I mean, i can hear the sound of my VCO even though i didn't trigger the EG.

If i connect the EG output to the exponential CV input instead, this doesn't happen.

Is this normal? Can someone explain me what's going on here?
