I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive but still great-sounding and easy-to-program/use drum machine to pair with my modular setup.
I used to have some nice vintage drum machines: CR-78, 606, DR-55, and a slightly wonky Oberheim DMX and DrumTracks, etc. I'd be looking for something that is versatile and could handle everything from minimal synth through EBM to Techno, if such a thing exists.
I'm a bit lost where to start -- I see a nice TR808 replica from Roland that could be interesting. How good are these replica-drum-machines? How good are the machines from Behringer? When I say "good" I am referring to both sound, ease of use and build quality/reliability.
Thanks for any info to help get me started!
