"Josaka" was an active member here, especially in the MU group until very recently, so it's a shock to hear he died. His impacts across modern electronic music cannot be overstated, and sadly they are usually very undersung... Dude invented trip-hop and big beat, developed a super lo-fi and Kung Fu/western-heavy brand of hip hop (before Wu Tang), had a massive influence on the emergent breakbeat hardcore scene in the early-90s with slow breakbeat tracks that could be played at 45 rpm, had a massive influence later on the jungle scene when his tracks became sampled, ran a highly successful label and distribution company that released both high-quality and extremely popular rave tracks, and made nasty and gritty electro tracks during the mid-00s electro-breaks revival. Plus he made porn soundtracks
And then at the end of it all he was also just another bigtime synth nerd happy to get involved with the MU banter, still making the scronks and blips.
Many seminal tracks but here's one of my faves just in terms of pure dutty breakbeat filth
