I'm just beginning to dip my toes into modular gear after over a decade of working exclusively in-the-box. I am now the proud owner of a Make Noise 0-Coast as my first piece of hardware. Previously I have done most of my production on iPhones/iPads running AUM and Drambo and a slew of other apps. I'd like to integrate the 0-Coast and my iOS devices. I've had some success already using Apple's Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter (and their USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter, for newer devices), which is capable of outputting a ±0.5V signal from its DC-coupled output. I'd like to boost the amplitude of this signal to eurorack level to achieve greater modulation depth when connected to the 0-Coast. I know there are a handful of eurorack modules designed for exactly this purpose of interfacing between eurorack and external gear. But I haven't taken the plunge into full eurorack yet. I don't have a case or power supply. So I'm looking for a desktop format or dongle-style solution to boost the amplification up to 10x to modular level. I've done a fair bit of online research and chatted with the guys at my local modular gear shop but so far I haven't found any off-the-shelf solution. I think I might have to DIY something, or else take the full plunge into modular.
Does anybody here know of either an existing piece of equipment or affordable DIY solution that can do what I want: boost a ±0.5V CV or audio signal to modular level? I'm hoping to spend <$100 USD on this. If it can't be done for less than that, then I'm going to get a 4ms Pod instead.
