A big hello to all you super helpful people!
Some background: I'm an IT nerd that tinkers, I don't play an instrument, a few years back I wanted to learn a bit more about electronics and fine-pitch soldering, eurorack PCBs were a fantastic way to do it. So now I've got a bit of bench space and want to make some sounds but I'm staring up a mountain. I'm a big fan of Radiohead's music and saw Thom solo at the Sydney Opera House two days ago and all the eurorack gave me a pinch of inspiration.
Can someone help a complete newbie with some "explain it like I'm 5" instructions to make some cool starter sounds (put this cable from here to here kinda thing), I've tried to piece together all the bits I need but a lot of it is just parts, I went totally overboard on PCBs for the different soldering "challenges".
If done a bit of an inventory of the relevant bits and pieces:
I have built these:
- ornaments and crime OG
- mst dual vca
- music thing modular microphone
- music thing modular radio music
- bubblesound ulfo
- rebel tech phoreo
- mutant bassdrum
I bought these ancillary pieces:
- midimuso
- eurorack power bus
- modal skulpt synth
- arturia beatstep pro
- cables
I have started assembling these, I'm not getting any younger and so some of these will be easier than others to finish:
- eurotrash
- sloth
- turing machine
- spectral multiband resonator
- ripples
- braids
- clanches
- stages
- polivoks
- manhattan discrete svvcf
- shades
- thomas henry x 4046 vco
- thomas henry 555 vco
- sum
- 2 x mst dual vca
- retroaktiv hlfo
- microburst
- euclidean circles
- mst noise sample hold
- foxfield utilfo
- foxfield averter
- vpme six switches
- 4ms clocker w/ scm chip
- 4ms clocker w/ rcd chip
- circuitbenders CB55
Please be gentle. Thanks!
