Hi everyone. I am new here and hoping somebody can help me arrive at a decision for (probably) buying an ES interface.
I use Loopy Pro and AUM on iOS for performing, and until lately a USB mixer from Allen and Heath to bring my line level machines into that mix.
One problem I’ve always had with the setup is that the USB only gives me a stereo mix, no individual channels for looping and processing in iOS. Ideally I would like at least four or five.
A second problem has come up more recently as I’ve decided I want to integrate two or three channels from my modular setup if I can. Unfortunately my intellijel case only gives one stereo line out.
I was thinking, would the ES-8 or ES-9 make sense as my one and only audio interface? In combination with something like the ADA8200 to bring the line signals in. Would I be able to get eight separate channels from my synths and sampler, along with a two or three channels of modular, all into AUM for processing like this? What about bringing the one or two of those line signals into AUM through the ADAT, then back out through the interface, through some modular effects, then back into the iPad once again for final mix?
Line instruments > ADA8200 > ES > AUM > ES > Modular FX > ES > AUM
Would all of this be achievable with just one interface plus the ADA8200? And does this sound like the most solid opinion for what I want to achieve even?! I do not know if line in is intended use of the ADAT connector on the interfaces, I have explored so many different options but keep arriving at the ES as the simplest solution. Please somebody correct me if I am wrong…
Is the ES-8 enough? Headphones out of ES-9 looks nice but its quite more expensive… I already have a output module I can connect to ES. I assume i can use ES outputs for monitoring this way
I would be grateful for any help or advice. Hope to make a purchase soon and sorry for my bad language. English is not my native language
