Title says it all, can Digitakt 2 possibly replace Octatrack as a stem playback machine even though it is offers "only" 36 minutes? Has anyone actually given it a go? How fast is it to switch between projects if your show is an hour or two ~30 minutes projects?
Felt like creating a thread instead of asking in the scattered Digitakt threads around the forum since this is a huge deal for so many of us and the only reason why I never gave Digitakt mk1 a change... the memory was simply just too low. MPC One is obviously a better choice with disk streaming coming on MPC 3.0... but MPC is extremely boring for DAW users while Digitakt is a creative addition to any studio. I sold my MPC live 2 for Octatrack since I only used it live and I never looker back, Octatrack is more reliable live and is such a fun studio machine - not to mention the midi sequencer. Not once did I find a creative duty for MPC that my DAW did not do way faster and more reliable and I was always anxious as fuck with it on stage due to the machine freezing or acting up in other way all the time.
Anwya.. I still find Octatrack stiff and a little bit clumbsy. While it is fun I really, really, really want Overbridge support for it, and that will never happen... so here I am, hoping for real word user report on exchanging Octatrack for Digitakt mk2 for live playback duties...![hmmm..... :hmm:]()
