I'm making fewer albums these days, and more sound libraries for those in games and film. While it's not the first sound library I've done using modular synths (Eurorack, all synthesis and no sampling), my seventh library is by far the biggest: Analogue Ordnance, a sci-fi weapon construction kit that is also one of the few libraries that's been mastered in the analogue domain, too.
Wanted to share because this is a very different way of thinking about creating sounds with the modular than for music. Hundreds and hundreds of patches, all slaved to the DAW to fire off at regular intervals for lots of variation to reduce listener fatigue when used in a game or show. Didn't allow myself the use of any plug-ins, so everything went through a Neve stereo EQ and Overstayer MAS before hitting the computer. All mastering was done in a separate pass...mastering nearly 400 discrete files was quite the chore.
Behind-the-scenes process article coming soon (will update thread when it's out).
