I know that there was once a $1000 Eurorack thread, but it's been a while (and worse, I can't find it.) So we're overdue IMO. This could serve as inspiration for aspiring Eurorackists, or just an exercise in practical rack building. The end result should be something that can work on its own.
Rules:
1. The build must factor in rack and power prices into the $1500. For example, a Nifty Case is $200, so that leaves $1300 and 84hp to play with. Likewise typical 104hp empty skiff cases sell for around $100, which allows $1400 more for modules, but you have to add a power supply as a module. The price of modules are what's posted on Modular Grid. Please state your Case and Power Supply in comments along with the submission.
2. It has to be a complete synth or sound source. It can't be a row of oscillators or a bunch of function generators with nothing to connect to. However, it can be a drum/rhythm rack or a noise rack.
3. Sequencing does not have to be part of the rack. We'll assume that everyone owns a Korg SQ-1. Likewise 3.5mm cables aren't included in the price either. Everyone gets 24 free cables of various lengths. And it will plug into a mixer with powered monitors and a headphone jack.
4. Submit Modular Grid entries, photographs of existing racks, hand drawn or computer generated pictures, whatever, as long as others can see it clearly. No limit on submissions.
