Key feature is it needs to be able to record manually gestured-in loops that can sync/reset with the rest of the system. This was the one downfall of the otherwise brilliant Erica Synths Black Joystick 2 I had. You could record movements, but had no way to cleanly sync that to the rest of the patch, at least as far as I could tell at the time.
So I'm looking into controllers again after a break from them and would very much like to be able to achieve both syncability and be able to record multiple gestures or input patterns at a time. I've been looking at the DNiPRO Krait and some of Flame's offerings, but am open to other suggestions as well. I had a Krait a couple years ago and I know there was something about it that bugged me a little, hence I sold it, but I no longer remember what the issue was or if the issue was significant enough that it would still bother me now. To the best of my memory it did what I wanted in theory, but just tended to be kinda flaky in practice, maybe? I only had it for a couple weeks so it's hazy.
