Music Tech DIY • KR198NT-XX Matched Pair IC Soviet-era

A good friend and trusted source came through for us with what we think is the widest range of available values for the NOS Soviet-era KR198NT1 thru KR198NT11 matched transistor pair DIP-14 IC.

Of course the datasheets are in Cyrillic. But they're original in the packaging and very cool to look at.

So-- if you're an accomplished circuit designer, interested in doing some homework about these chips, sorting through the Cyrillic to English translation of specs and performance, and sharing your analysis here with the community, we'll send you a sample of the types we have just for the cost of postage (this is of course a limited offer). Please email or PM us.

The most widely known use for these in synths is the Polivoks series. Erica Synths has (had?) a stock of some of the values but they are hard to come by.

Maybe these will inspire someone to do a new module design or variant replacing a 'common' matched pair with one of these-- for that classic soviet-era tone!
