1U & 3U Eurorack Modules • Cool janky noise sources…

Hey all,

I have a thing for noise sources that are a little less than perfect. I obviously can see the use for a spectral correct (or whatever) white noise source but for whatever reason I find myself gravitating towards noise sources that almost seem a little broken. In that I mean noise sources that are a little wobbly or grainy. In particular I like the v1 Pittsburgh Toolbox module and I have had a Verbos Noise Filter that was partially broken and a random Arc Noise Rainbow that I thought sounded really nice. Part of that is when fm’ing oscillators the slightly meandering response is ideal for more wobbly sounding leads etc. I have other cleaner noise sources like qu-bit chance (which I love 100% for random gates) but I don’t like the white noise out very much.

Do any of you folks have good recommendations to check out for your favorites of things like these? Obv this is a very niche question but we are a very niche community.

Cheers and I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

MM
