So even barring any NEW designs....I have a whole slew of modules which I had already done revision 1 protos (often I got all the way up to production ready rev3s and then covid happened)
I would like to see these come out but I am not sure if there is much interest?
So I am starting to think a kickstarter might be the way to go!
I am curious if OTHER people like buying modules through kickstarter?
Basically What I am thinking is posting all of the modules as one kickstarter with people being able to pre-order the module (s) they want and then if it gets to the total amount I would manufacture those and ship them out.
Here is a list of what I had finished that never was released (a few of these were shown at SuperBooth and some (the Rolloffs) were even made in very very small quantities and sold to a handful of customers)
here is the list
1. COMRADE COMPRESSOR: dual character (PUMPIING )compressor meant for PURPOSELY pumping/Slamming the heck out of percussion etc (not clean) (Was shown at Superbooth). The sidechain can be an external CV and both channels can be driven from the same sidechain via the flick of a switch.
2. DUAL INTEGRATOR (general dual integrator as used in analog computers-- includes reset via a trigger and the trigger normals to both channels if only one is plugged in. IF no signal input is plugged in the integrators inputs are fed via a normalled voltage source so the cap will charge)
3. KEYS2DA CAR — 3 channel Organ Style “Keyer” Module for Organ style Vca/Env sound (Was shown at Superbooth) A really fun module which gives 3 channels a very 60s sound. Includes a sum of all 3 channels and also a triggered "FIXED ENVELOPE" out. basically a utility envelope to go along with the module. (I always have been a believer in adding as much utility in my modules as possible wherever it makes sense)
4. STOPS- Organ “Instrument” Shaping Filters. This module goes along conceptually with the Keys2DaCar and allows one to filter a bunch of inputs using typical organ passive filters (RC or LC)
5. Module X—— Strange Feedback Device. Based on the idea of using a mixer as an analog neuron. The entire Panel is nothing but jacks and lots and lots of them ( Was shown at Superbooth)
6. ROLLOFFS— Classic 1970s Disco Mixer Shelving EQ (Tone Control) (dual) optimized for LOUD LIVE/CLUB Environments where you need to boost or cut HI/LOW (Was shown at Superbooth) I personally never play a live set without this module. I love it. And since it has two channels I often send all my low end to ONE (kicks, toms, bassline) and then have another being used for hi-hats, snares, synths etc. When you are playing live it can be nice to have a good musical EQ that requires no thought at all.
7.HYDROGEN JUKEBOX- Trashy Analog FM synthesis. Utilizes 4 simple Analog VCOS in 4 different modulation algorithms. Wonderful for Percussion, Sonic Experimentation, etc. In some ways this module was the answer to people always asking if I was going to add CV to the Dronebank. OF course this is a whole different beast entirely. Do not expect DX7 tones or a digital interface.
I could of course make videos for these (all of them had a working prototype except possibly the dual integrator and the STOPS. A sucessful Kick_Starter campaign would allow Snazzy to start up again and depending on the Tiers I could also sell the remaining Snazzy FX modules I still have. ( and there could also possibly be tiers for other Snazzy FX objects/t-shirts.etc. Who Knows.
I know almost nothing about promotion so if anyone has advice here I am all ears. The goal would be to get Snazzy back to life-- and get these modules out (or at least some of them). I miss getting stuff into the world and having my life be dedicated to sound.
Thanks for any thoughts
