I want to use the darlington transistor buffer for something else then buffering an LM13700 output. Usually transistors have a maximum base-emitter voltage, with a 2N3904 this is 6V. However for an LM13700 I can not find VBE max. in the datasheet.
In my design the base will see a voltage swing from -7V to +7V, while the emitter is tied to ground using a 10k resistor. The LM13700 runs of the usual +/-12V rails. I'd prefer to avoid having to use a clipping diode over the base and ground.

Advice would be very welcome
