Found a good deal on a used Matrixbrute a little while back. It arrived in good shape, worked with no problems for 6 months-ish.
Then the other day it just shut itself off. I had been playing it, then started messing with some other gear, turned back around and it was off.
Over the next day or two I could get it to come back on for short periods, if I let it sit for a bit and then flipped the power switch a few times. But there was no rhyme or reason to it that I could discern. And then, by the third day it wouldn’t turn on at all. If you have it hooked up to monitors you can hear a little pop when you turn the power switch on, and there’s the faintest/briefest flicker of an LED behind the sequencer Play button. But that’s it.
The only references I could find online to anything similar were people who had problems when trying to update firmware or use the software for it. I hadn’t been doing either of those, but I tried the suggested fixes for those cases anyway. No luck.

Sending a message to Arturia support as well, but not too confident that will yield anything super helpful.

I’m planning to open it up and have a poke round the power supply, to make sure it’s not something obvious like a blown fuse or a bad switch. But that’s about where my troubleshooting abilities probably end.

Which brings me to the second part, anyone have a recommendation for synth repair in or near Austin, TX?
I had been thinking Switched On, but when I went to confirm that they’re still around and taking repairs, I found quite a few negative reviews from the last year or two. Even some people who’d had good experiences with them previously saying the service and communication had gone downhill. So, I’m a little leery of that option…
Any other good techs in the area people would recommend? Or has anyone had a recent positive experience with Switched On’s repair shop?
Thanks in advance Mod-chums!
Really want to get this beast working again, and reeeeaallly don’t want to have to ship it anywhere;)
