Just finished filling my 4th 6u 104hp case. Of course, after filling each case I was *certain* I had everything I wanted and wouldn't need to expand into another case...but...my reality (or OCD-ness if you will) had different plans ![:hyper:]( "hyper")
As I look back I realized the decision to begin each new case was something I always resisted but eventually it came down to a single must-have module that I became convinced I needed. I thought it would be fun to document which modules those were and find out if other multiple-case people expanded because of the same "gotta have this one new module" concept...
I began with an Erica Black System III. Life was complete for a short time...then I saw the Mordax DATA scope so began a 2nd case...
Life was complete for a few weeks then I realized I wanted to control my Octatrack Mk2 (which I use as a sampler and 8 voice drum machine) from the modular. Along came the Befaco VCMC so began a 3rd case...
Life was complete for a few months, then I accepted the realization that I'm a complete delay freak and stumbled across the Intellijel Sealegs. The funny thing is when I began the 4th case, the Sealegs weren't available anywhere so I substituted a 4MS Dual Looping Delay. Just as I had the final 20hp left to fill, Intellijel began shipping and I found a Sealegs at Detroit Modular![:party:]( "w00t")
So how about anyone else? Have you expanded into new cases because of a single must-have module?
