1U & 3U Eurorack Modules • simple & cheap CV recorder / CV looper options

I'm looking for a simple CV recorder, but I'm having a devil of a time identifying the reasonable options. This is for a specific use case, and the closer to a no-frills unitasker I can find the happier I am (I seem to be a Doepfer/Ladik kinda person).

Essentially, I just want to clone & loop a sequencer output so that I can then use the sequencer for other stuff. Just getting a second sequencer doesn't really work because I'm trying to grab generative/random sequences on the fly--much much easier to record than recreate. Something like the 2hp Loop but for CV would be about right (HP is mostly irrelevant, I just mean in terms of focused functionality).

So far, the only dedicated CV recorders I can find are:

• Flame Quad CV Recorder

• Modcan CV Record (discontinued unobtainium)

• Neutral Labs Pip

• Patching Panda Ephemere

There's lots of other modules that I see referenced in CV recorder conversations, but they're definitely not dedicated to that function and they all seem to be massive overkill for my use case. These include:

• DC-coupled samplers - ALM Busy Circuit Squid Salmple, Mungo S0, Percussa SSP, Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

• Modules, usually controllers, where CV recording is ancillary to or supportive of main feature - Intellijel Planar 2 (joystick), Bela Gliss (touchpad), Dnipro Krait (knob), Erica Synths Fusion CVF3 (filter with recordable knob)

• The usual multifunction suspects - 1010 Bitbox, Disting, Droid, Ornaments & Crime, Teletype

Since I'm not interested in the overkill options, that leaves me with a pretty short list of contenders. It's a tough category to research, though--no standard terminology, no dedicated category on Modular Grid, limited chatter here, etc. I'm convinced I'm overlooking something, and I'm hoping the MW braintrust can clue me in.

So, what do you think? Are there obvious module options I'm not seeing? Or maybe I'm thinking about this entirely wrong and I should be looking at modules or techniques other than recording the CV?
