Expert Sleepers • Expert Sleepers FH-2 sync to external midi clock issue

I have an FH-2 here (with a CV expander), that is having trouble syncing to external midi clock. The internal sync events (LFOs and euclidean patterns) seem to get slowed down whenever it receives CV data over USB.

I have double checked my devices and don't seem to have any midi loops or spurious messages being sent. As soon as I touch a midi fader, the clock slows down a bit. I can then continue to nudge it slower and the clock will wrap around a bar and be right back on sync. Seems like either a buffer is overflowing, or perhaps I'm accidenally activating the FH-2's beat match "nudge" slower feature for beat matching.

The euclidean patterns also intermittently drop the first note in the pattern. Strange

Any idea why this is happening and/or how to debug it?
